With only 250g, they are lightweight for over-ear ANC headsets. They are very comfortable to wear, even if you're reading or listening to an audiobook. The headband has a friction-rod design that is similar to the Grado Labs SR60x, which keeps your ears from getting too cold.

With a sound quality that will please people who listen to music for no reason and serious audiophiles, WH-1000XM5's signature is tuned to have a slight emphasis on bass, but it isn't excessively loud or harsh. They feature a wide and spacious soundstage that has good instrument separation, which allows you to hear details in your music. The earcups also have touch controls that are easy and responsive to use. Swipe forward to go to the next track, then back to hear the previous track, and up and down to adjust the volume. The headphones can be connected to two devices at once and will automatically stop playback whenever you remove them from your head, thanks to the built-in sensor. You can also activate ambient mode by resting your palm on the right earcup, which allows you to be aware of what's happening around you without taking off the headphones.

They can also be paired with your voice assistant. Bluetooth low-energy is also supported, as is high-resolution audio (via LDAC). The headphones come with a carry case made of top quality fabric and a USB-C charging cable. The headphones work with Android and iOS smartphones, as well as computers running Windows or macOS. The WH-1000XM5's life expectancy is superb. In our standard test, we were able to achieve 31 hours and 53 minutes with ANC switched on which is much better than Sony's advertised battery duration of 30 hours.

The WH-1000XM5's microphone performance on calls is superb and there's no distorted or static-y audio in the background. The noise cancellation performance is top-quality and they're a great fit for public transport or the office.

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 provides a significant improvement over its predecessor. It comes with a variety of new features and performance. This includes 24-bit wireless streaming, optimized active noise cancellation, as well as clear voice quality on any compatible mobile phone or tablet. The custom-designed 40mm drivers are precisely positioned inside each earcup for an even more focused and immersive listening experience. Six carefully placed microphones offer excellent call clarity, headphones Gym even in noisy environments. An inline remote and microphone let you control your calls and music using any compatible device.

Similar to the original PX7 These headphones have sleek and elegant with accent rings on each earcup as well as a silver-colored headband. The memory foam earcups fit snugly, but not too tightly on the cranium. The redesigned form and shape required a lot of time to perfect, providing a comfortable clamping force that doesn't press too hard, even on my own cranium that is rotund.

These headphones are made for professional use. They feature a metal frame and a mixture of plastic and leather padding. The design is simple and doesn't resemble an expensive pair of headphones bluetooth, but they feel luxurious in the palm and are built well. They come with a carrying pouch and an additional audio cable and an 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.

With a neutral sound profile the HD 800 S reproduces natural instruments and vocals, even though they are light in bass. The open-back design creates a wide, out-of-head soundstage. The treble quality is excellent, with minor drops and peaks. The region of the treble has a linear quality, so you will not have any issues with piercingsibilants, or the upper bite of the drum snare.

Despite not having a high-pitched bass, they still provide dynamism and impact when required. These headphones are still great for those who enjoy rock music with a punchy bass, but may not sound as great as other models on this list.

In the mids in the mids, these Sennheiser headphones are hard to beat. They are straight and have an incline on the upper mids, which won't be noticed by the majority of listeners. They can also reproduce fine time gradations which is a nice benefit.

The HD 800 S are a pair of exceptional headphones, ideal for audiophiles and professionals. Their impressive sonic performance and comfortable fit make them an excellent option. They are expensive, but they will last you for a long time and will perform in any environment.

Anker Soundcore Life q20

The Anker Soundcore Q20 is a great pair of headphones for those looking to pass the time or just want a pair of affordable noise cancelling headphones. The headphones come with a simple bag that will protect the headphones when you place them in a bag. The battery will last multiple long-haul flights. The ANC is a great way to block out loud passengers and engine rumbles, but their audio profile is a bit heavy and warm.

The controls on the Life Q20 are well-marked and easy to use. On the left ear cup you'll find buttons for powering up and pairing the jbl headphones, as well as for turning off or on active noise cancellation. On the right ear cup there are controls for playing back media, including a multi-function button that allows you to activate your phone's voice assistant and turn on the Anker's BassUp feature (more on this later). The built-in microphone can be used to make calls using hands-free technology.

Anker's Soundcore Life Q20 headphone delivers a rich immersive listening experience thanks to its custom 40 mm dynamic driver that provides certified Hi-Res audio. Anker Soundcore Q20 does not support aptX. This is a disappointment. This means you won't be able to take advantage of the superior codec's lower latency when you're playing games on your PC.

The Life Q20's headband and memory foam ear cups are comfortable enough to be worn for long periods of time without discomfort. The ear cups are able to rotate and adjust to the particular shape of your head, so you can have a comfortable fit. The included 3.5mm audio cable allows you to listen to music while charging the battery.
