The dual multi-surface rubber brushes flex to adapt to different flooring types and prevent tangling in pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle avoidance isn't as robust as some of the other robots we evaluated, and it repeatedly ran into objects in our tests such as handbags shoes and pet toys before continuing its course. It also had difficulty dealing with salt from kosher, coarse, which it blew over and around rather than picking up.

The i3+ EVO has a lot of great features to make it worth the additional cost over other Roomba models, like self-emptying bins and advanced control via the app. It is possible to schedule cleanings, create custom routines, and even create zones that do not want the robot be allowed to enter. Its smart scheduling will even suggest extra cleanings during allergy seasons and depending on the routine you follow. However, the Roborock S4 Max is better built, takes much less time to recharge than the Shark, and provides a wider range of automation and scheduling features, including support for no-go zones. We'd still recommend the Shark when you're looking to buy something less expensive or in the event that you prefer using your mobile phone for control and monitoring instead of a dedicated remote.

5. Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry

This robot is capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its two-tank system can effectively vacuum or mop with the push of the button. In our tests it was able to effortlessly switch between surfaces and was a great choice for cleaning pet fur from hardwood floors and carpets. It also features an edge-sweeping tool to clean cat hair along walls and baseboards, plus the ability to schedule it to your schedule.
