Easy to install

They can be installed by yourself in just ten minutes. All you need is an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is to remove the original cover from your key. It must be removed before the new cover can be fitted.

After removing the old cover Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the four major attachment clips located on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red in the image below. Be aware of the yellow locating tabs that have to be disconnected.

After removing the battery, replace it with a brand new CR2032 3 volt coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery corresponds to the opening in the fob and that the -" negative side is facing toward the buttons made of rubber.

Reattach the passenger-side mirror cover by aligning the locating tabs. After you've completed this, put the driver side fob back in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly the car should turn on the parking lights and your doors will automatically lock.

Easy to remove

The BCM can detect the transponder in the key fob in order to confirm that it's a valid key.
